Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 23, 2026

1. Who We Are and What This Policy Covers

This Privacy Policy explains how Leaders Leaving Legacies, LLC collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information through leadersleavinglegacies.com and any other website that links to this policy (together, the “Site”). In this policy, “Leaders Leaving Legacies,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Leaders Leaving Legacies, LLC.

The policy applies when you browse the Site, create an account, buy from our shop, subscribe to our newsletter, or submit a questionnaire, service request, or contact form.

It does not cover information we handle while delivering services under a signed client agreement, such as technology assessments, website development, hosting, or Microsoft 365 implementation. That information is governed by the confidentiality and data terms of the applicable agreement. When we host or maintain a website for a client, the client’s own privacy policy governs visitors to that website.

Please read this policy together with our Terms of Use.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information you give us directly, information gathered automatically when you use the Site, and limited information from third parties.

Information you provide

  • Contact and consultation requests. Your name, email address, areas of interest (such as leadership coaching, speaking engagements, technology assessments, web development, or hosting), and your message. When you book a consultation through our online scheduling tool, we also receive the appointment details you enter.
  • Newsletter and event sign-ups. Your first name, last name, and email address when you join our Leaders LeadUp newsletter and event updates.
  • Project questionnaires and service requests. Your name, email address, phone number, and mailing address, along with details about your business, such as its mission, audience, services, current website, goals, budget, and support needs.
  • Accounts and purchases. Your name, email address, username, password, phone number, billing and shipping addresses, and order history. Payment card details are entered directly with our payment processor; we do not store full card numbers.
  • Other communications. Anything you share when you email us, leave a comment, or provide feedback or a testimonial.

Please do not send sensitive information, such as Social Security numbers, health details, or bank account numbers, through the Site’s forms.

Information collected automatically

  • Device and usage data. Your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, the pages you view, and the dates and times of your visits.
  • Cookies and similar technologies. See Section 4.

Information from third parties

  • Service providers. Payment processors, shipping carriers, and scheduling tools may send us confirmations of transactions, deliveries, or appointments.
  • Social media. When you interact with our Facebook, Instagram, or LinkedIn pages, we may receive information according to your settings on those platforms.

3. How We Use Information

We use personal information to operate the Site, serve you, and run our business responsibly. Specifically, we use it to:

  • Respond to inquiries, schedule consultations, and prepare proposals.
  • Process orders, ship books, deliver digital downloads, and provide customer support.
  • Create and manage your account, including access to client-only pages and forms.
  • Send the Leaders LeadUp newsletter, event invitations, and other updates you request.
  • Review project questionnaires and service requests and plan our work.
  • Understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve its content and performance.
  • Protect the Site, our clients, and our business against fraud, spam, abuse, and security threats.
  • Comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.

We may also create de-identified or aggregated information that cannot reasonably identify you, and use it for any lawful purpose.

4. Cookies, Analytics, and Do Not Track

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the Site working, remember your choices, and understand how the Site is used. Cookies are small files stored on your device by your browser.

  • Essential cookies keep you signed in, hold items in your cart, complete checkout, and protect our forms from spam. The Site cannot function properly without them.
  • Preference cookies remember choices you make on the Site.
  • Analytics cookies show us which pages are visited and how visitors move through the Site. We use Google Analytics for this purpose. You can stop Google Analytics from collecting your data by installing Google’s opt-out browser add-on.
  • Embedded content. Some pages include content from other services, such as our scheduling tool, which may set their own cookies under their own policies.

We do not use cookies for targeted advertising.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. Some browsers send “Do Not Track” signals. Because no common standard exists for interpreting them, the Site does not respond to them. We do not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising, so a Global Privacy Control signal has nothing to opt you out of; if our practices change, we will honor such signals as the law requires.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising. We disclose it only in the situations below.

  • Service providers. Companies that help us run the Site and our business, such as our hosting and content delivery providers, payment processor, shipping carriers, email and newsletter platform, scheduling tool, form software, analytics provider, and accounting support. They may use your information only to perform services for us.
  • Professional advisers. Our attorneys, accountants, and insurers, who owe us duties of confidentiality.
  • Legal and safety reasons. When we believe disclosure is required by law, subpoena, or court order, or is needed to protect the rights, property, or safety of Leaders Leaving Legacies, our clients, or others.
  • Business transfers. As part of a merger, sale of assets, financing, or similar transaction. The recipient must handle your information consistently with this policy.
  • At your direction or with your consent. For example, when you ask us to introduce you to a partner, or you agree to let us publish your testimonial on the Site.

6. Your Choices

You control how we communicate with you and what your browser stores.

  • Marketing emails. You can unsubscribe from the Leaders LeadUp newsletter and other marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any message or by contacting us. We will still send transactional messages, such as order confirmations and replies to your requests.
  • Account details. You can review and update your account information by signing in to My Account.
  • Cookies. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. Blocking essential cookies may prevent you from signing in or checking out.
  • Optional information. You may decline to provide information we request, but some features, such as purchases and project questionnaires, may not work without it.

7. Your Privacy Rights

Wherever you live, you may ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. Residents of some states, including California, have additional rights under state law, such as receiving a portable copy of their information. We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.

How to make a request. Contact us using the details in Section 12. Tell us what you are requesting, and include your name and the email address you used with us. An authorized agent may submit a request for you with proof of your permission.

What to expect. We will confirm your identity by matching the details you provide with our records, and we aim to respond within 45 days. We may keep some information where the law allows or requires, such as order records needed for tax purposes. We will not treat you differently for exercising your rights.

Appeals. If we decline your request, you may ask us to reconsider by replying to our decision. If you remain dissatisfied, you may contact your state attorney general.

California “Shine the Light.” We do not share personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.

8. Data Retention and Security

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy, unless the law requires or permits a longer period.

  • Orders and payments: for the period required by tax and accounting rules.
  • Newsletter subscriptions: until you unsubscribe, plus a minimal record so we do not email you again.
  • Inquiries, questionnaires, and service requests: as long as needed to respond, deliver services, and keep accurate business records.
  • Accounts: while your account is open, and for a reasonable period after it closes.

Security. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections, restricted access, and regular software updates. No website or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you as the law requires.

9. Children’s Privacy

The Site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Third-Party Links and International Visitors

Third-party links. The Site links to websites and services we do not control, such as Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Their own privacy policies govern what they collect, so please review those policies before sharing information with them.

Visitors outside the United States. We are based in Wisconsin, and we and our service providers store and process information in the United States. Data protection laws here may differ from those where you live. By using the Site, you acknowledge that your information will be processed in the United States.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as our practices or the law change. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the “Last updated” date at the top. For material changes, we will give additional notice, such as a banner on the Site or an email to account holders. We will not use information we already hold in a materially different way without your consent.
